Danielson Minnow Seine Net 1/8" Mesh

Economical, rugged and reliable, these Danielson Minnow Seines are long lasting, giving fishermen the added edge in trapping bait. Made with non-absorbent, black polyethylene netting that resists rot and mildew. Just attach two poles to the minnow net and you are ready to catch live bait. Featuring durable high density foam floats, this minnow seine is available in 1/8-inch net and measures four feet high. Length varies by model number.

  • Mesh Size: 1/8"

SETTING UP YOUR SEINE NET:
Unpackage the seine net. Attached to a rigid pole on each side. (Use a strong wooden or plastic pole about 5 feet long - Not Included). There are strings on the four corners of the seine net for tying onto the poles.

TIPS ON SEINING:
Once your seine net is set up and get ready to catch bait. Scout out a good spot and use the seine. The lead weights on the bottom edge of the seine should be held down on the bottom of the creek bed (or area that you are seining) as you walk and push the seine upstream against the current. By keeping the seine on the bottom it prevents bait from swimming under the seine net's lead line. The floats are to keep the seine up and prevents fish from swimming over the top and out of the seine net. Seine nets can be used in any place to catch bait where there is water shallow enough for wading such as edge of a lake, shallow coast line of a bay, sandbars in a bay, inlet, or ocean, rivers or creeks. Seine nets can be used just about anywhere. Note a small seine can be pushed along in the water by one person; however, for best results there should be a person on each side. CAUTION: Avoid fast moving water!

Using a seine is a two person operation. Each person holds an end pole and walks through the water. The strongest in your team usually works the "deep end" of the seine and he knows when the weight of the catch is nearing his capability - and that's time to bring it in. As you walk through the water position the bottom of each pole ahead of top of each pole.
